Oscar Guernsey, 86, Seymour native, dies in Louisville
Oscar Guernsey, eighty six, longtime Seymour resident, died at 9:15 a m Thursday in a Louisville hospital after a cerebral hemorrhage. He was born May 6, 1851 in Clark County and moved to Seymour fifty years ago, where he ran a grocery for many years. Funeral at 2 p m Saturday from Voss Mortuary with Rev. S J Cross officiating. Burial in Riverview Cemetery. Survivors include a son Harry Guernsey of California a brother Albert B Guernsey of Indianapolis and a sister Mrs G F Payne of Louisville. His wife Patience Hancock Guernsey died in Seymour in 1922. He moved to Louisville six years ago and was photographed during the Louisville flood last January. A daughter Mrs Maxa Jones died from injuries years ago in Cincinnati.
