The Columbus Republican reports a man named Bruce Scott, an escaped convict, possibly back in southern Indiana. Joe Gilmore of Bartholomew County says he hauled a man resembling Scott from south of Columbus to Walesboro last Saturday. Sheriff J. W. Foust and others monitor but have no countywide search underway as doubt remains whether the sighting was accurate. Scott formerly held up the Jonesville State Bank in January and remains wanted.

Fifteen patients were examined at a Wednesday free tuberculosis clinic at Schneck Memorial Hospital.
