One Injured In Crash On Interstate 65
A Kentucky woman, Joyce Johnson aged 42 from Hodgenville, suffered lacerations in a two vehicle crash on I 65 two miles north of U S Alternate 31 at 7 30 am. Johnson was a passenger in a 1953 van driven by Claude Powell 35 of Hodgenville. Squire Reid 35 from Atlanta driving a 1972 semi trailer clipped the Powell van causing it to overturn. The van was a total loss and the semi trailer damage was about 700 dollars. Reid was cited for improper passing by Trooper Mickey E Hudson.

Road accident injures passenger and damages two cars
Mrs Dozier suffered a head bump and eye injury from glass after a collision with a car driven by Smith. She was treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital. the Dozier vehicle had about $30 damage while Smith's car was undamaged. Three accidents were reported in Seymour Friday.

Jackson County residents face rain mixed with snow this weekend after Friday’s downpour. Mrs. Ruth Everhart notes December rainfall at 2.21 inches and more moisture ahead. The National Weather Service in Indianapolis warns of continued mixed precipitation tonight with freezing rain possible and temperatures dropping to the low 20s. Sunday brings rain turning to snow with colder highs in the mid 30s and overnight teens. The extended outlook shows partly cloudy Monday and mainly cloudy Tuesday and Wednesday with chances of late Tuesday and Wednesday snow and teens overnight highs in the low 30s.

Jet Crashes at Midway Kills 43 Including U S Representative
A United Airlines Boeing 737 bound for Omaha from Washington crashed near Chicago’s Midway Airport in sleet and snow, killing 43 aboard including U S Rep George W Collins and CBS journalist Michelle Clark. Survivors were taken to hospitals as investigators probed the cause. The crash damaged homes in a Southwest Side neighborhood, with the logbook of pilot W L Whitehouse found among debris.
