Seymour police officer John G. Pfaffenberger quarantines his home at 827 North Broadway after his five year old son Kenneth contracts diphtheria. Pfaffenberger, on night shift, posted the quarantine card and will continue duty as the outbreak is tracked by sanitary officer James A. Willey after 6 pm. The Friday quarantine brings the city total to five cases.

Noted Ohio Lawyer to Speak in Seymour on December 13
Hon. Fred G. Bale former Columbus Juvenile Court prosecutor and acclaimed lawyer will give a free lecture in Seymour Wednesday night December 13. The event, sponsored by the Seymour Teachers Federation and by the Parent Teacher Associations of four city schools, invites churches literary societies parochial groups and city school patrons. Scouts Sunshine Society and Hi Y Club will attend in body. Rotary and Lions Clubs are invited. A school chorus and orchestra will perform before Bale speaks. He will also address Shields Junior and Senior High on Tuesday afternoon and speak at the Seymour Rotary Club meeting. Bale recently toured Alabama Louisiana and Oklahoma. The sponsors plan similar prominent speaker events in the future.

Crothersville Man Arrested After Columbus Crash
Cravens of Crothersville arrested in Columbus on a reckless driving charge after a November 27 head on collision on Road 31. He bonded out after being treated for a broken shoulder and other injuries, while his wife and a Smith child were seriously hurt in the crash that also involved the Hall family and occurred as Cravens tried to pass another vehicle.
