Annual Parade in Seymour Welcomes Santa and Holiday Cheer
Santa Claus drew a crowd Saturday despite a chilling north wind as downtown Seymour hosted a Christmas parade with floats bands and a visiting WTTV host Janie from Indianapolis. Awards honored Seymour Christian Church Citizens State Bank and Seymour High School Future Teachers Association. Santa greeted kids at the Santa house and set visiting hours through December 23 with concerts and planned community caroling events.

Police Probe Five Mishaps
Area law enforcement investigated five auto mishaps over the weekend, causing five injuries and about $7,350 in damages. One injury involved Gary J. Lemon 16 of 428 Mutton Creek Drive treated for chin abrasion after a single car crash on Tipton Street. Lemon’s 1975 station wagon left the road struck a guard rail and a sign pole, with $2,800 damage to the vehicle. A second accident occurred Saturday at Commerce and Depot streets Brownstown involving Opal Davidson 60 and Ruby McCory 62 in two other vehicles.

Not Guilty on Assault Charge but Guilty of Theft Involving Stacy Evans
James M. Hamer, 46, Greensburg, was found not guilty of assault and battery with intent to kill Stacy Evans but convicted of theft of a $114 portable radio related to the October 1974 incident.
