Love One Another Triumphs in Brownstown Christmas Parade
The Brownie Scout Troop 172 float Love One Another won first prize of 25 dollars in the Jaycee sponsored parade. Psi Iota Xi Beta Mu Chapter Brownstown and others earned 15 dollars each for second through fourth places. The parade drew 1 000 spectators along a route from Robertson Mill to the courthouse with bands, floats and Santa Claus finale.

Snyder to Attend Seymour GOP Rally in Indiana
State Treasurer John K. Snyder announces he will seek the Republican U S Senate nomination at the June party convention. Governor Edgar Whitcomb and Rory Calhoun will attend the Seymour rally at the National Guard Armory with a 6 p m supper and 7 p m program. Snyder, 48, from Washington Indiana, is a widower and father of four. He criticizes Hartke as not representing conservative voters while Hartke eyes a likely Democratic renomination. Other possible GOP contenders for the June 18 19 convention include William D Ruckelshaus Richard L Roudebush William N Salin and Richard G Lugar.

Mrs. Gertrude Callahan aged 67 died from a fall at her Medora R1 home. Authorities say a slip on a rubber mat caused a 13 step descent to the first floor, with death due to a skull fracture. A longtime Jackson County resident and retired teacher, she taught in Brownstown Central Schools and at Wallonia Medora Freetown and Clear Spring and served as secretary of the Jackson County Turn to Page 13, Column 3.
