Four Arrested Here Friday In Seymour Speeding Roundup
Four people were arrested by Officer Donald S. Hickey in Seymour on Friday in the south end. Mirian L. Toppe 31 Brownstown clocked at 45 mph in a 30 mph zone on South Chestnut Street. Richard D. Branaman Brownstown R1 charged with reckless driving for speeding and running a stop sign. Ranier Assmann 18 Seymour cited for 41 mph in a 30 mph zone on South Walnut Street. Gene R. Hopper Princeton truck driver held after a 42 mph speed in the same area. Police warned of strict enforcement amid complaints of excessive speeding.

Four Dover Children Die in Pre-Dawn Farm House Fire
Four children of James and Mrs. Dover died in a north of South Bend farmhouse fire that destroyed their two story home. Dover, his wife, and five other children escaped in night clothes into subfreezing air as deputies and firefighters battled the blaze near Ironwood Road just south of the Indiana Michigan line.

Police Seek Three Men After Assault Near Seymour
Authorities search for three men after they allegedly beat a youth near the junction of U S 50 and 31 east of Seymour about 9 30 p m Friday. The youth was with a girl friend when two men held him while the others beat him. They fled in an orange and white Mercury with a ZF prefix license. Troopers nearby saw a pink over white Chrysler product but exact make unknown. The youth was not badly hurt.

Body Of One Of 37 Miners Found
An advance rescue team located the body of one miner trapped 650 feet underground at U S Steel Frosty Run shaft Robena No 3 mine near Pittsburgh. The mine faced methane danger and fires as eight-man teams worked through the long tunnel to reach the body two miles from the vertical shaft.
