Flood Hearing Set on Shoals Dam Alternatives
A Brownstown Chamber of Commerce meeting at the Brownstown courthouse at 7:30 p m next Thursday will be a public hearing by the Indiana Flood Control Commission. Mrs. Menlo Miller of 400 East Fourth Street has word from the war department that Pvt. Menlo V Miller was slightly wounded in action on November 20 in Germany. He reports cracked ribs and hip injuries and that he joined the Army in January 1944 and was overseas since August with an infantry division. he is now in a hospital in France.

Brewster Rites Set for Saturday in Dixon Chapel
Funeral services for Jessie Talbert Brewster age forty four will be held at 2 p m Saturday from Dixon Chapel. Burial will follow in Dixon Chapel Cemetery. Brewster, a Freeman Field employee, had been ill six months and wore a back brace after an earlier injury. He was born July 13 1900 in Pike County and moved to Jackson County a decade ago. He married Maysel Lane on October 19 1940 in Covington Kentucky. Surviving are his widow one brother and his sister Mrs Fox of Indianapolis.
