Mrs. John R. Kern a native of Clearspring and former county resident died December 1 at her Farlington Kansas home. Funeral services were held at the Farlington Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. Harold Brown in charge. She earlier lived in Indiana and Oklahoma and had joined the Baptist faith before settling in Farlington. Six nephews carried her to rest beside her son in Farlington Cemetery.
