Augustus Brown colored, age twenty four, faced public intoxication charges after a fight at the Dew Drop Inn on West Tipton Street. He pleaded guilty, fined ten dollars plus costs, thirty two more for damage, and a 90 day sentence suspended on payment of twenty three dollars to the inn owner. He damaged a glass show case and pies, suffered cuts, received medical attention, and was held at the city police station. Brown works at a local garage and has resided in the city three years after moving from Shelbyville Kentucky with his wife and child.

She was forewoman in the box making department at Sam B Wolf Sons plant born December 22 1878 in Ohio she came to Seymour in 1923 and has a niece Mrs Hazel Berry and a half brother Eli Morgan in Ohio as survivors.

Jacob Slarp, 71, died Sunday at 5 pm at his home three miles east of Uniontown after a ten day illness. Funeral services are Tuesday at 2 pm at the home led by Rev. J. G. Moore and Rev. F C Pfeiffer. Burial in Cana Cemetery. Survived by son Elmer, brother John, half sister Anna Eubell, and three half brothers Charles Engles David and Samuel Engles.
