The Shields High School basketball team of eight players will depart at 5 25 this evening for Edinburg to face Edinburg High School. Assistant coach N C Henderson and mathematics instructor Mr Glaze will supervise in coach Mitchell's absence due to illness. Lineup includes Tonan Hyatt Keach Milamore Adams McCord Young and Wilson. Local fans plan to attend and root for a win.

About 900 miners in Indiana halted three mines near Terre Haute with a possible statewide strike by tonight. Union demands a $4 wage deduction to cover losses from a recent national stoppage, and 30,000 workers could quit if operators refuse. Minor mines at Glen, Willow Creek, and Jackson Hill No 7 were affected.
