Christmas Stamps Arrive at Seymour Post Office
The Seymour Post Office received 100000 five cent Christmas stamps from Washington DC, completing an order of 130000. Assistant Postmaster Charles Hauenschild said the stamps are popular and likely to sell out by December 21. The Muss Memling Madonna and Child design is offered only on request and the office will stay open two Saturdays, December 10 and 17, to handle holiday mail.

Local Man Fair After Car Crash
Robert R. Kendall Jr., 33, of Calvin Boulevard, is in fair condition at Schneck Memorial Hospital after a two car crash on Broadway near Second Street. Police say he struck a telephone pole then hit a parked pickup, causing about 1850 dollars in damage. Kendall suffered knee scrapes and facial lacerations. Sgt Donald Scott assisted in the investigation.

Two Injured In One Car Crash On Ind 58 near Freetown
A one car crash on Ind 58 sixteen miles west of Freetown at 10 05 p m injured two people. Linda C Stillions 22 of Columbus R7 had a bruised left arm and knee while Gary C Stillions 28 of Columbus R7 was admitted to Dunn Memorial Hospital Bedford with a bruised knee memory loss and back injury. The car went out of control on a hill crest in rain and collided into a weed field. Troopers Hollace Chastain and Richard D Barker investigated and cited front end damage.

Couple In Fair Condition After Indiana 9 Crash
A Seymour couple Wilmer Woolf 45 and Shirley 41 were injured in a two car crash on Indiana 9 north of Shelbyville on Nov 30. They were transferred to Memorial Hospital in Seymour in fair condition. The other car’s driver died and the Woolfs were returning from Anderson after visiting their son John. They reside at 434 South Beech Street.
