Signalman Falls Into White River in Ice Covered Trestle Accident
A Pennsylvania Railroad signalman, Robert L. Judge, 21, of Indianapolis, slipped on an ice covered trestle over the White River near Rockford and fell into the swollen waters as a train neared. Two fellow workers escaped to safety while authorities dragged the river for three hours. Judge was married to Alberta Schulte, daughter of Theodore and Mrs Schulte of 814 North Elms Street.

Snow and Cold to Persist Through Friday in Indiana
An enamel of ice and over three inches of snow blanketed the area as Rockford observers and state forecasters projected continued snow and cold through Friday. White River flood stage at 14 feet was rising toward a 17-foot crest by Friday. Temperatures fell from 42 to 16 with overnight lows near zero expected. Roads in Seymour remain slick and some closed due to high water. power outages occurred from ice. The storm system hit other Indiana towns and extended nationwide with low temperatures as far south as Arkansas and the Texas panhandle.

Alfred G Moren 68 a former Baltimore and Ohio conductor died at Schneck Memorial Hospital after a week long illness. He resided at 712 Ewing street and lived in the county 32 years. Survivors include wife Mary Viola Donovan Moren and seven others. He had been a member of Knights of Pythias Masonic Lodges and Order of Railway Conductors and belonged to First Methodist Church. Born March 13 1882 in Martin County.
