Miss Mary Lou Wallace Weds Jack G Spencer in Church Rites

Miss Mary Lou Wallace daughter of Mr and Mrs Lew Downing Wallace Brownstown and Jack Guthrie Spencer son of Mr and Mrs Claude Harrison Spencer Indianapolis were married at Second Presbyterian Church Indianapolis in a simple decor double ring ceremony. Rev Joseph W Johnston officiated with matron of honor Mrs Houston Whitson and best man Houston Whitson. The bride wore a brown street length dress with brown accessories and gold jewelry. The couple left for a brief wedding trip. Mrs Spencer wore a green dress and the ceremony featured greenery exhibition mums and white carnations. The bride is a Brownstown High School 1945 graduate and Earlham College attendee. Spencer is a Shields High School 1946 graduate and Hanover College alumnus. He works for Root and Brown Construction Company.

Diane Sue Trimpe Birthday Observance

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Trimpe hosted a Sunday afternoon celebration for their daughter Diane Sue as she marked her second birthday. Pink and white decor framed a large cake with two candles while an ice course was served to a gathered group including Clara Trimpe Emma Schepman Hugo Schepman Delbert Benter Ed Vosbrink and other relatives.

Wedding of Mr and Mrs Spencer in Rockford

A wedding ceremony for Mrs Spencer and her husband was followed by a dinner for immediate family at the home of Mr and Mrs Houston Whitson. The couple, with ties to Indiana National Guard, will reside on U S Road 31 at Rockford. Out of town guests included the Ball and Wallace families and Dr C H Spencer.

Legion Auxiliary Meeting Plans Christmas Party and Sponsorship

Members of the American Legion Auxiliary met at the Legion Home with 31 present. President Mrs. Willard N. Everhart Jr led, prayers by Mrs. Sam Trueblood, and reports from secretary and treasurer. Kathleen Coryell was named the unit’s sponsored girl for the year, with gifts and holiday aid planned for her.

Kappa Kappa Kappa Holds Meeting At Tinder Home

Members of Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority met at Mrs. John Tinder's home for a regular business session. President Mrs. Martha Beldon led plans for the Christmas party on December 17 at the Elks Club. The group will aid a needy family and send a Christmas gift to the hospital. A TB bond purchase was approved and a rummage sale is set for December 11 at the City Building.

Psi Iota Xi Sorority Plans Christmas Party at Seymour Club

Members met at Mrs. John Conner home 306 North Walnut Street for a regular business session. President Mrs. Lydean Hyatt led the meeting as plans for the annual Christmas party on December 28 at the Seymour Country Club were discussed along with several other projects.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Agnes Hedges drew many visitors from multiple states and towns. Attendees included Dr. and Mrs. D W Matthews, Mr. and Mrs Clyde Matthews, and numerous relatives from Paris Crossing to Covington Kentucky. The survivor list and origin points reflect a wide network of kin and acquaintances across Indiana Ohio Illinois and Kentucky.

Handel's Messiah Enjoyed By Audience at Christmas Recital

Epsilon Chapter of Triad presented Handel's Messiah at its annual Christmas recital on Sunday December 5 at the First Baptist Church. The church was decorated with palms ferns a poinsettia and two seven branch candelabra. Mrs. Margaret Haynes directed assisted by Miss June Aldrich. Vera Warner was pianist and Norma Barkman organist. Ushers included Carol Miller Melba Lunte Antoinette Kasting and Christine Caddell. Members of Triad sang in the program with a long list of named participants and committees handled decorations and usher duties.
