The program featured community singing, reports on a trip to the Columbus Creamery, and discussions on Producers and Financing. The evening included a Christmas story by Mrs. Chester Heckman, recitations by Betty Hovener and Norma Koop, and a play Mothers Christmas performed by several Schroer and Surrenkamp family members. Boys say liquor caused trouble in Evansville thefts
Walter Dimmett sixteen of Evansville and two companions Farr Rutledge twenty and Alva Lee Shepherd eighteen were arrested after a car theft and a string of robberies. They admitted traveling from Evansville to Vincennes Indianapolis Louisville and Columbus stealing a car and robbing two service stations before sentencing. Rutledge and Shepherd drew ten to twenty five year terms while Dimmett’s case was adjourned for a character check due to his age.

Indianapolis Dec 7 AP State officials halted the initial result in the Jennings-Scott Circuit Court race. A November tally favored Fred Matthews Republican by eighty four votes, but a recount declared William B. Fitzgerald Democrat the winner by thirty five votes. Attorney General Omer S. Jackson ruled the governor could issue a new commission to Fitzgerald. FE. P. Elsner of Seymour served as special judge in the contest.
