Schwein Boy Recovering From Barn Accident
Robert Schwein six year old son of Mr and Mrs Wm Schwein Jr Brownstown suffered a slight skull fracture after falling through a hay mow opening in a barn while playing with companions. He was unconscious for several hours but believed to be on the road to recovery. The accident occurred at Ed Knotts home as boys were sliding down hay.

The annual American Legion post No 89 minstrel Al's Minstrel drew a near capacity crowd at the Majestic theatre. Miss Mary A Salter 73 resident of Seymour died this morning at 1040 after a long illness with complications. Born December 7 1850 in Illinois she moved to Seymour and remained a local figure. She was a Christian church member in Wallonia and active when able. Survived by sister Mrs Minnie Baker and brothers Van Salter and James Salter. Funeral from Laniel Joiner residence Sunday at 2 with Rev W T Mallins officiating. Burial Riverview cemetery.

The Mitchell Telephone Company, owner Stephen M. Isom, was sold to L. C. Griffitts of Seymour with Indianapolis financial partners for about $50,000. Purchasers took possession Thursday and will operate in Mitchell and nearby Shoals and Slluron regions. Hunter shoots fox near Wallonia after fox steals pig
Scott Everhart of this city hunted south of Wallonia with friends when a fox stole a pig. Disturbed, the fox dropped the pig and Everhart shot it. The fox was brought to Seymour, still warm, about an hour after being killed. The male weighed about twenty pounds and was gray.

Robert Thompson dies after car crash injuries
Robert Donley Thompson, 57, of Leesville, died Tuesday night from injuries and pneumonia after being struck by a car two weeks earlier in front of his home. A longtime Leesville schoolteacher, he is survived by four children and was honored by local Masons and Knights of Pythias at his funeral held Thursday at his home and Leesville cemetery.

Gray Fox Killed by Interstate Hoosier Flyer
A gray fox was struck and killed on the Marshfield bottoms bridge between Scottsburg and Austin by the Interstate Hoosier Flyer due here northbound at 7 22. The body was placed in the window of the Hoadley grocery on South Chestnut street. Motorman Frank Kasting identified the collision and recovered the carcass the next day.
