Funeral services for Arthur C. Greger Brownstown's oldest merchant were held at 2 PM from Winklepleck Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Hall officiating. Burial followed at Fairview cemetery. Survived by wife Pearl Benton two sons Charles B. and Arthur J. Greger three brothers two sisters and multiple nieces and nephews. Born December 29 1876 in Seymour he ran a hardware and seed store since 1899 and served on Brownstown Town Board 1920–1924. He died of a heart attack Saturday at home after stroke at the Indiana State Fair last September.

Remains of Lt Fred A Crawford Returned From Pacific
Remains of Second Lieutenant Fred A Crawford and 1,899 other Americans were returned to the United States from the Pacific area aboard the Dalton Victory. Crawford, 22, was missing June 11, 1944 and killed in action July 18, 1944 while piloting an Army transport plane over India and Burma. He was a St Ambrose and Shields High School graduate, attended Butler University, and enlisted in 1941. Memorial services were held in Indianapolis on November 12, 1944 with flags presented to his parents.

Youth Burglary Suspect Sentenced In Indiana Court
Arthur Lorig, 16, Battle Creek Michigan, pleaded guilty to second degree burglary. Judge George H. Gossman sentenced him to two to five years in the Indiana state reformatory in Browns Town.
