Jonesville Man Dies At Home of Daughter
William Welmer aged 88, a longtime Jonesville farmer, died after a 19 month illness at his daughter Mrs. Minnie Moorman’s Jonesville home. Born April 12, 1856, he married Mollie Brockhoff in 1881. Survived by five sons Everett, Frank, Lawrence, Emil, and William, plus daughter Minnie and six grandchildren. one brother-in-law also listed. Funeral 1:30 from Moorman home and 2:00 at Jonesville Lutheran Church with Rev. Hoeferkamp. burial in Jonesville Cemetery. Burial arrangements with Flannigan Reed Hull.

Mrs Irene Jaynes of Seymour Alabama reports her husband Pfc Roscoe N Jaynes was slightly wounded in action on November 17 in Germany. A Red Cross letter notes he sustained a right elbow wound and is convalescing in an English hospital. He has served overseas since June with General Patton's Third Army.

Jackson County commissioners renewed several county offices during December in Brownstown. Margaret Ellen Horstman was renamed county health nurse and Fred Meyer of Freetown was reappointed county highway superintendent. George Franklin of Medora became clerical assistant to the highway superintendent. George H. Gossman of Browns Town was named county attorney. It marked Glen Collins's last regular meeting.

Registration at the Seymour Boys' Club will close Wednesday until the second semester. Tonight is the last night for a visitor's pass. The club opened a week ago and 163 boys have full membership, with more expected before closure. Local men volunteer weekly to mentor groups, and more helpers are urged. Amos Schuerman Dies At Home Near Seymour
Amos Schuerman a 32 year old Jackson county farmer died Monday at his home in Seymour R3 after a two year illness. He was born April 23 1912 and is survived by wife Erma, two daughters Ruth Evelyn and Lois Marie, his father Henry, a brother Sgt Alfred Schuerman stationed at Camp Shelby, and two sisters Mrs Fred Eggersman and Miss Lorene Scheurman. Funeral service will be at Sauers Lutheran Church with Rev Destinon officiating and burial in Sauers Lutheran Cemetery. Burial in Sauers Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the home.

Light damage results from two small fires in Seymour. A kerosene stove caused a blaze at 321 South Carter Street prompting a morning fire department run, and Monday afternoon a booster truck responded to a wiring blaze at Second and Vine Streets where the fire was already out when crews arrived.

Bombers Beat Berlin in Heavy Daylight Raid
American B bombers and escort crews bomb Berlin and Tegel and munition plants. More than 550 heavies and 800 fighters took part from British bases. Luftwaffe failed to reach the formations as Maj.
