A one day Jackson County Farm Bureau membership push drew about 100 solicitors across townships. Harold Myers reports many workers plan to finish calls today and Wednesday with final tallies expected Thursday. The drive follows a well attended Brownstown booster meeting featuring Edmond Fonst of The Hoosier Farmer. The bureau had 560 members last year and 1940 goals surpassing six hundred are hoped for. S. Jacob Leroy Weddell of Jackson county died Monday at 1:30 PM at his son Cecil Weddell's home in Wallonia after a week long illness. Funeral at Valhomia Christian Church at 1 PM Wednesday with Rev. Weddell of Medora officiating. Buried at Weddleville. Born June 15, 1860 in Carr township, survived by five children Carl, Luther, Nellie, Elva, and others. widow Hettie Elizabeth Weddell preceded him in death. He was active in Wallonia Christian Church and a longtime farmer respected in the western Jackson County community. He had lived in Carr and Driftwood townships.

The Seymour Business Men's Association postponed its Medora community dinner planned for next Tuesday until after the new year. Secretary William Topie said overlapping meetings forced the delay after notifying members. The group hopes for at least 100 attendees when the trip takes place.

Santa Parade in Seymour Wednesday Downtown
Santa Claus will officially appear in Seymour on Wednesday afternoon rain permitting as floats travel from Shields High School through downtown. Downtown shops will open Wednesday night so people visiting the Santa parade may shop before and after the event. The parade ends shortly after 5 o clock, giving shoppers ample time to complete Christmas purchases before closing.
