Governor Ralph F Gates said a 10 to 12 million dollar flood control and water resources program will be studied by the U S Army Engineers. Four reservoir sites on upper East Fork White River tributaries were tentatively chosen with a detailed survey requested covering Rush Shelby Johnson Bartholomew Decatur and Jennings counties. Targets include Driftwood River near Columbus Flatrock River near Geneva Clifty Creek near Bartholomew Decatur line and Sand Creek near Brewersville. Flood pools exceed 11 500 acres with Driftwood alone over 7 000 acres. A Muscatatuck study could justify 10 million dollars in impoundments.

Mrs Lourany Jaynes age 93 died at noon today in New Castle Indiana after a year of illness She lived in Seymour before moving to New Castle about ten years ago Born near Salem May 26 1854 she was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs David Wileut Her husband William Jaynes died February 7 1931 Surviving children and grandchildren Burial is planned at Conologue Cemetery with funeral services to be held in Seymour arrangements to be announced later.

Well Baby Clinic Set for Friday at Health Center

Five Admit Kidnapping and Sentenced to Life
