Ex-Helicopter Pilot Dies in Florida Test Flight
Wanda C. McGuire of Indianapolis was informed by the War Department that her husband Captain William J. McGuire was killed Saturday near Jacksonville Florida while testing a new helicopter model. He was twenty two and had trained at Freeman Field Seymour since last August. He had worked for the Allison Division of General Motors before enlisting in 1942. Survived by widow and his parents Mr and Mrs J F McGuire and sister Miss Marilyn McGuire all of Indianapolis.

Rigsbee Renamed To Music Office In Indiana Clinic
Paul W. Rigsbee was reelected vice-president of the Indiana School of Music Educators Association at a Friday-Saturday music clinic for public school teachers from central and southern Indiana at Indiana State Teachers College in Terre Haute. The association sponsors spring band choir solo and ensemble contests and the 1945 solo ensemble event will be held in Terre Haute the last weekend in March. Local students are expected to compete and nationally acclaimed guest conductors led demonstrations.

Rites Held Sunday For Freetown Woman
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah E. Reed aged eighty were held Sunday at 1 30 PM from the Freetown Methodist Church. Burial followed in Houston Cemetery. Mrs. Reed of Freetown prior resident, died Friday noon at her daughter Mrs James Huber's home after a two week illness. She was born April 15 1864 near Freetown, daughter of William and Eliza Suma. She married William D. Reed March 8 1883 in Jackson County. he preceded her in death. Survived by daughter Stella Huber and son Ford Reed of Indianapolis, and six grandchildren.
