B G Shannon proprietor of a service station at West Second street and Emerson Drive foiled a 6:50 PM hold up by slashing at the robber with a butcher knife and knocking the gun from the bandit's hand. The aged station attendant yelled for the robber to flee as police searched the area without success.

Jonesville Man Unconscious After Crash Injures William Crane
William Crane, fifty eight, of Jonesville, remained unconscious and in serious condition at Schneck Memorial Hospital after being thrown through a windshield in a crash caused by a car driven by Albert Donhost, the Jonesville postmaster.
