City council members announce a mass meeting to discuss the sanitary sewage system with taxpayers. AHLBRAND favors changes to build a trunk line and lift pump, balance against properties, and possibly delay nonessential features to reduce costs near a quarter of a million dollars.
Dr G G Graessle addressed Seymour Rotary Club urging toxin anti toxin vaccination to immunize children against diphtheria. He said immunity lasts eight to ten years or life and cited tests, orphanages, and school programs as evidence. The talk covered disease impact, horror of deaths, and a soy bean dinner novelty at the meeting.
The Harding Memorial Association plans a national fund to raise and maintain a memorial mausoleum for Warren G. Harding. In Jackson County Indiana volunteers, led by Seymour postmaster Haskell Lett, will organize local committees and collect voluntary contributions. Local chairmen include Rev. C. W. Whitman for Seymour and leaders for Crothersville Brownstown Medora Vallonia Ewing Freetown Bebout Cortland and others.
The December meeting of the association of high school principals met at Wallonia. Howard C Henderson represented Shields High School and chaired the county athletic association to arrange details for the county basketball tournament at Crothersville December 20 to 22. Ten teams from all county high schools participate. Visitors observed classroom work and offered suggestions. Lunch was taken together. sessions ran morning and afternoon.
The Eagles lodge reports a $75 pledge to Riley Memorial Hospital funds via treasurer C D Billings, bringing the total to 1993.75. An additional $50 ordered by the Commercial Travelers, not yet received, could push the subtotal to 2043.75 with more gifts possible. Mrs J B Purkhiser spent the day with friends at North Vernon.

County officials approved a $2,225.02 bid from Highway Iron Products for bridge materials to be delivered to Brownstown next year. Wages for road workers rise to 40 cents per hour with district foremen at 20 cents for use of teams, effective December 13. A fellowship meeting at Trinity M E Church celebrated the new building with interdenominational remarks. A Fox Drive planning meeting in Jackson County arranged 100 marshals for the event next Saturday, with 2,000 participants urged to come unarmed and dogs not allowed.

Indianapolis December 4 The Nichter road bond issue awaits further investigation by the state board of tax commissioners. John J. Brown chairman said the road could not be built now and he is waiting for additional information before the board acts and could not indicate a date.

The ladies of the Congregational church hold a bazaar and food sale on Saturday December 8 starting at 1 o'clock in the Sunday school parlors. Proceeds support church activities and community programs.
