Five people were injured in a two car crash at the Ewing and Fourth streets intersection at 9 05 p m Saturday The 40 year old Seymour driver Robert H McCord was arrested on driving while intoxicated and reckless driving charges The other injured included Mrs Nellie Urban Walter Earl Manley Sr and Manleys two children Patricia Ann and Walter Jr The cars were total losses and witnesses said McCord crossed center line before impact

Seymour Youth and Girl Treated After Weekend Injuries
A Seymour youth and a nine year old girl were treated as outpatients at Schneck Memorial Hospital after weekend incidents. Roger Beavers, 19, of 729 East Fifth Street, was admitted at 2 p.m. Sunday for stitches after his leg was struck by an axe. Rebecca Scarlett, nine, daughter of Mr and Mrs Donald Scarlett of North Vernon, fell in her yard, hit her arm on a rock, and received sutures before being released at 3:35 p.m. Saturday.

Infant dies after grandmothers medicine taken in North Vernon
A 16 month old boy from Dayton Ohio died in a North Vernon physician's office after reportedly swallowing medicine used by his grandmother to control high blood pressure. The child, Robert Gibson, died three hours after the pills were ingested while staying with his grandparents as his parents moved. Funeral services are planned for Tuesday at Dowd Funeral Home with Rev. T C Gonzalez officiating.

Twelve Cited For Speeding In Seymour Traffic Stop
Seymour city police used an electric timer to clock 12 motorists in the 700 block of Ewing street for exceeding a 30 mph limit. Officers Gill and Rose cited the group, all to appear in Seymour city court within six days, naming each driver and home city. A Cortland driver, Eugene N. Kruse, 20, was also cited on West Sixth street for speeding in a 30 mph zone.

Lad Struck by Car Suffered Minor Injuries Near Seymour
A six year old boy Wayne Alan Lebline was slightly hurt when his bicycle collided with a car on U S Alternate 31 about half a mile north of Seymour. He sustained forehead abrasions and knee contusions and was treated at Schnek Memorial Hospital. Nona Russell the 47 year old driver of a 1963 sedan said the boy swerved into her path as she attempted to pass and she reported braking to a 73 foot skid. No charges were filed.
