Jackson County Agricultural Agent Edward A. Ragsdale and assistant Richard Duncan will join 350 extension workers at the annual extension conference December 7 to 10 in Lafayette. Purdue President F. L. Hovde and USDA extension aide Otto C. Croy will open the event. W. L. Nunn of Minnesota will speak at the annual dinner Tuesday night. Cars Damaged In Crash At Chestnut Streets
Three cars were damaged in a collision at North Chestnut and West Third streets at 1 o clock today. Mrs Clarice Plumer Seymour R4 and Mrs Elizabeth Heyne 629 North Poplar street were involved as Plumer backed from a parking place and Heyne vehicle stopped at the intersection headed west. Police estimated Heyne car a 1954 model at 100 dollars and Plumer’s 1950 model at 17 dollars.

Pollert Dies At 64 A Retired B&O Conductor
George F. Pollert 64 longtime Baltimore and Ohio Railroad conductor and Jackson County resident died at his home 624 East Tipton Street. He retired September 12 1947 after years on the line and served with the Brotherhood of Railroad Conductors including as grievance committee chairman. Born April 21 1890 he was a son of Henry Barkman Polllett and Adeline Jarvis Barkman Pollett.

The Seymour Post American Legion will formally open its annual Christmas Fund on Saturday. Thomas A. Plunkett chairs the committee distributing food baskets and toys to needy families, with Robert H. Former Reddington Man Dies At LaHarpe Kan
Riley Sweany, a former Reddington resident and farmer, died Thursday night in LaHarpe Kansas. He moved away about 25 years ago. Surviving are his wife, two sisters, a half sister, three half brothers, a daughter Clarissa Hart, a son Emerson Sweany, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
