Foreclosure Judgments In Jackson Circuit Court
Jackson Circuit Court at Brownstown handed down judgments in the cases of Seymour National Bank against Flavie Collins and Olive Collins. Foreclosure and a $19 530.63 judgment were awarded. a new stone residence and a Collins monument shop on Ewing street near Riverview cemetery are included in the foreclosure. Cross complaints by Dunlap and Company and Alfred L. Blevins on mechanic liens were decided for $1 118.61 and $720.19 respectively. Sheriff sale cannot proceed until next April due to statutory redemption. The suit was filed last April.

Design of Christmas Seal Wins National Prize
The 1949 Christmas seal design featuring a dove and Christmas dolly won a $1,000 first prize in a nationwide contest by the Society of Illustrators. Jackson County's Tuberculosis Association promotes the seal sale between Thanksgiving and Christmas to fund disease prevention and control efforts. Seals are mailed to residents and are increasingly used on letters and packages as Christmas nears. The association plans several major projects next year funded by seal and health bond proceeds, including free chest X rays for Jackson County high school students in January.

Youth Charged After Auto Injures Woman in City
George Eugene Forrest 18 faces reckless driving charges after his car struck Mrs Elzora M Lester 72 on Tipton and Chestnut streets at noon Friday. She suffered multiple injuries and was moved from Schneck Memorial Hospital to an Indianapolis hospital. Police say Forrest had the green light and turned left, hitting the pedestrian crossing Chestnut Street.
