Honor Roll List At Shields High School
Seventy-eight students earned places on the honor or high honor rolls for the second six weeks of the current semester at Shields High School. Seventeen made the high honor list with five seniors and five juniors among the top scorers, and sixty-one earned ten to fourteen points on the regular honor list. Senior students heavily dominate the rankings, led by the Senior Home Room with thirty-four names.

Hugo Otte Dies After Appendix Operation
Hugo Otte, 27, died at Sehneck Memorial Hospital at 9:50 p.m. Thursday after an emergency operation for a ruptured appendix. He was born February 1910 near Tampico, son of H. Henry and Henrika Otte. Survived by father, two brothers Carl of Browns Town and Walter of Columbus, and sister Marie. Funeral at Vegan Lutheran Church Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial in Weean Cemetery. Friends may call at Carl Otte home in Browns Town.

Seymour city council held a semi monthly meeting to discuss fines for minor traffic violations and the planned rerouting of U.S. Road 31 through the city when the state highway commission takes over all state and federal highways on January 1. The meeting lasted about an hour with full attendance. Councilman Logan Sargent motioned to authorize W. W. Stradley, head of the pool commission and park board chairman, to return.

Four Armed Bandits Rob Tam-pico Garage at Night
State police pursue four gunmen who held up Garriott Garage operator Marion Garnett and two others at 10:25 PM Wednesday. A car stolen four hours earlier on North Chestnut Street was found wrecked on the Tampico Crothersville road four miles west of Crothersville. One shot was fired. occupants fled on foot after a ditch crash. Authorities note possible injuries but no blood found.

Mrs Virginia Otto secretary to the Jackson County Tuberculosis Association reports first Christmas seals for 1937 were mailed Thursday to 1000 Seymour residents. Ernest Hinge and W T Hughes were the first buyers, with returns coming in within hours, indicating a strong start for the campaign.

A J Claybaker 80 Summoned From Brownstown Township
Andrew J. Claybaker aged eighty of Brownstown township near Sa ners died at his home Thursday night after a week long illness. He was a longtime member of Sauers Lutheran Church and a respected local figure. Survived by Emma Peters his wife of 1885 two sons Albert and Alex three grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services were held Sunday at 1 30 from his residence and 2 from the Sauers Church with Rev. J Th Destinon officiating. Burial followed in the Sauers Cemetery.

Bedford Junior Chamber of Commerce officers and eight members met with Seymour youths to discuss forming a Junior Chamber of Commerce in Seymour. A follow up meeting is planned for Tuesday at 8 PM in the American Security Company office on North Chestnut Street to discuss details.

A turkey dinner was served at the New Albany Country Club and a U S Department of Justice agent from Louisville spoke to Rotarians of Group 6, including Seymour.
