Boy Joe Case Faces Adult Reformatory Decision
Fifteen year old Joe Case who stole cars and escaped twice will be sent to the Indiana reformatory for adults if Governor Jackson approves a state boys reformatory recommendation. Officials at Plainfield said they could not safely hold him and urged Pendleton, with youths under sixteen normally kept out of the reformatory. Case, captured after a Kentucky arrest on Thanksgiving, remains in Marion county jail. He reportedly stole eight cars and robbed four places between his Terminal Station escape and capture. Sherman Crosley and Hatsel Comerson, both sixteen, were arrested as associates in the stolen car activity.
