Touring Car Plunges Into Old Quarry Near Hayden
A Michigan-registered touring car skidded on State Road No. 4 east of Hayden around 10:30 am, slid into a quarry eighteen feet deep, and the driver and a man and woman passenger escaped through the windshield. Archie Whitsett witnessed the scene and aided in rescuing the travelers who reached the quarry bank before the car settled underwater. The driver claimed to be a traveling salesman and the occupants included his wife. authorities pulled parts of their baggage from the water.

Five Firemen Hurt In Street Collision
