A car driven by Marilyn Louise Powell, 24, of Seymour, skidded on snow and ice on North O'Brien street about half a mile north of Seymour and slid into a drainage ditch. The rear bumper broke a mail box post, causing about $100 in damage to the vehicle.

Guardsmen Deployed From Indiana For New Castle Duty
Two guardsmen from Company B 138th Tank Battalion Indiana National Guard reported to New Castle for a week long duty in response to a strike at the Perfect Circle Corporation Foundry. Sgt Hubert L Spieker and Sgt Garret L Henson arrived from Seymour and will serve under Lt Oakley M Allen until next Friday noon. Relief for Bedford guardsmen was provided prior to this assignment.

Weather Sparks Two Seymour Traffic Accidents
Rain and ice on Seymour streets caused two crashes. At 10 PM Thursday Vern Kerkoff 20 and Kathryn Whitson 15 collided on Second and Ewing streets. Early Friday Neal Ross 36 lost control on Ninth Street. his car hit a parked 1946 coupe owned by James Riley. Damages totaled about $145 with no injuries.

More Venicemen Excused In Trial
