December Cold Air Aims Hoosier State This Week
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis warns of a brief cold snap as a low pressure system brings northwest winds across Indiana. Temperatures will drop from the 10s to the low teens in southern Indiana and to the five to 10 degree range in central and northern areas, with Thursday highs only in the upper teens and frigid Friday mornings. Temperatures recover to the mid 20s to upper 30s by the weekend, with a chance of rain or snow. The service also notes forecasts of a colder than normal winter for the eastern half of the nation, while the Dakotas and Wyoming remain milder.
