Ambulance Plans Outlined for Jackson County by 1973
Jackson County emergency unit committee outlined three ambulance service plans to be in place by January 3 1973. The subscription plan proposed a four unit system with two units in Browns Town and two in Seymour backed by leasing and mobile phones. A payroll or annual fund drive would fund memberships with nonmembers paying mileage and waiting fees. A second plan would use privately owned ambulances operating in Seymour. The third plan details were continued on page 10.

Youth in Serious Condition After Seymour Accident
Paul Barbour, 15, of Seymour, remained in serious condition at Methodist Hospital Indianapolis after being struck by a car Sunday night while crossing U S Alternate 31 north of Seymour. State police corrected an earlier release naming the driver as Steve Mellencamp, 17. the actual driver was Nicholas Melander, formerly of Seymour, now Indianapolis.

Four Jackson County residents attended the IASWCD two day conference at Purdue University. Harold H Wilson of Peru R was re elected president for a third term joining officers Beryl Grimme Robert Muesing and Al G Danby. Seymour Teen Leaves Scene In Early Morning Crash
Seymour police investigated two accidents on Tuesday and state police logged a third. Kathy J. Hardy, 17, lost control of a 1972 car on Ind 258 and sideswiped a tree, fled, then returned 30 minutes later. Police cited her for leaving the scene as damage to the car and tree totaled about 850 dollars.

About 450 attended the 1971 concert at Seymour High School auditorium. The eighth grade Cadet Band under Kermit E. Mann opened with March of the Three Kings and other selections. Local Youths Meted Probation in Seymour Court
Five Seymour youths appeared in juvenile court before Judge Robert R. Brown on Tuesday. Four faced second degree burglary charges. A 16 year old was placed on one year probation with restitution of 50 dollars and license suspension. Another 16 year old got probation, 562.87 dollars restitution, and license suspension for three burglaries at Big Blue Store and Dunlap's.

The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce met at the People's Bank in Browns Town electing Kenneth Ball again as president with Steve Surface as vice president and Lawrence Montgomery as secretary treasurer. Bernard Burnside and Cris Johnson were outgoing officers. Donald Girton spoke on a proposed scenic highway through the Hoosier National Forest. A plan to expand the board from 18 to as many as 36 members was discussed. Next meeting planned for Seymour in January.
