Brownstown Parade To Feature 54 Entries This Year
Brownstown holds its 10th annual Christmas parade Saturday with 54 units 17 floats. Alvin Peters chairman says entrants include the Indianapolis Shrine horse patrol Browns town Presbyterian youth group and Girl Scout Troop 254. Santa Claus will lead from Santa Claus Land near Dale Ind. The parade forms near Robertson Corporation in Ewing at 3 p m and proceeds east on Spring Street then south on Main to Tanner Street where units disband. Thousands are expected to view the affair with Camp Atterbury Job Corps and a Seymour National Guard color guard among participants. Also in the lineup a Honest John missile from Ft Benjamin Harrison a Camp Jackson Post 112 color guard and two queens two princesses.

Rocket attack hits U.S. medical station in Chu Lai
An enemy rocket struck a U.S. medical station at Chu Lai base camp 50 miles south of Da Nang, killing or wounding the entire staff. In Phnom Penh a bomb at the U.S. Embassy caused damage but injured no one. The Viet Cong also announced three and four day cease-fires for Christmas New Year and Tet.
