Blood drive draws 117 donors at First Methodist Church
Jackson County residents contributed 102 pints of blood at the Red Cross drive held Thursday at the First Methodist Church. Donors included Paul Hanner, now in Veterans Hospital Indianapolis, and a long list of Seymour and surrounding area residents. The next visit is December 14 in Brownstown with future dates in Seymour.

The Seymour Senior High School audience enjoyed the dry witted satire Absence of a Cello. Six seniors including Lutz Schulz as Andrew Pilgrim and Virginia Ross as Celia delivered a sharp lampoon of corporate recruitment. The production highlighted tensions between intellectual privacy and corporate pressed conformity with strong performances from Jo Ann Ries Ann Eisner Mary Garvey and Larry Hill.

Two youths were arrested after a $2,750 tray of 11 diamond rings disappeared from Rost Jewelry in Columbus. Police traced suspects Clifton Wadlington and Jimmy Montrel Anderson, whose car was stopped on Interstate 65. Nine rings were recovered. the case continues as the tray remains missing.

First Sergeant Begins Duties At Local Post
