Civil Air Patrol Week Nov 28 to Dec 4 spotlights reorganization of the local squadron. A 7:30 p m Thursday meeting at the CAP building near Freeman Field invites cadet and senior members. applications are open. If five seniors and 15 cadets attend weekly meetings the squadron is considered active.

Whitcomb Named Chairman of Great Lakes Commission
Seymour attorney Edgar D. Whitcomb 48 of 636 North Poplar street was elected chairman of the eight state Great Lakes Commission. The Indiana former state senator succeeds Francis A. Pitkin and heads a body from New York Pennsylvania Ohio Indiana Michigan Illinois Wisconsin and Minnesota with headquarters in Ann Arbor. The group plans to seek congressional endorsement to expand its operations and meets next summer in Niagara Falls New York with tentative talks from Governor Nelson Rockefeller and Ontario Minister Robarts.

New Plant To Be Built In Seymour By Telephone Co
Indiana Telephone will occupy the current Tribune building at 305 North Chestnut Street after acquiring the site at 1223 East Tipton Street formerly planned as the Congress Inn. Construction on a new Tribune building will begin soon and office space is needed due to rapid Seymour growth. The Daily Tribune moved its delivery area to accommodate demand and a downtown site was not feasible to purchase and clear.
