Parking Meter Revenue Rises Sharply in November
City clerk-treasurer Gaynelle Moritz reports November parking meter receipts reached 1798.09, up 252.98 from October, based on five weekly collections. Highest week was November 16 with 414.48. Fines also rose to 36 from 10 in October, supporting the meter fund that pays two officers and meter upkeep. Surplus funds go to street and alley maintenance for over 50 miles of streets.

Area Women X rayed After Separate Mishaps
Two Seymour women received X rays at Schneck Memorial Hospital on Monday for injuries from separate accidents. Lois Durham 45 of Seymour R2 injured her left hand when her hand struck a board while feeding veneer into a machine. her little finger was X rayed and she was later released. Sylvester Anderson 45 of Seymour Rl slipped on a wet rug at home and was checked for a possible left foot injury. she was X rayed and released.

Petitioners Fail To Appear At Water Hearing In Seymour
Seymour board of public works held a 7:30 p.m. hearing on extending the Water Company line in the 700 block of East Brown street. Petitioners did not attend despite notice. company rep was present. Mayor Isaacs and officials heard that extensions were not financially viable for six years per the Public Service Commission. The board urged a compromise where homeowners pay for the main, while a fire hydrant will be installed at Gaiser Drive and Church Street to serve the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and Community Home Inc. Church Street would run through the old Willman property south of Freeman Avenue to connect Walnut and Loretta avenues.

Grand Champion Angus Steer Sells at $21 A Pound
The International Live Stock Exposition grand champion Aberdeen Angus, Black Jewell, sold for $21 a pound, later raised to $21.60 to honor the show's 60th anniversary. Co-owners Roy and Wayne Maass of Remsen Iowa received $22,356. the steer weighed 1,035 pounds at sale. The buyer was the Howard Johnson restaurant chain.

An Allegheny Airlines twin engine plane crashed into Eagle Mountain near Williamsport while attempting a landing. Three survivors were found, two not expected to live.
