Freeman Field marks first anniversary with parade and cake
The Freeman Army Air Field celebrates one year since activation with a 4 PM retreat parade for all personnel. Col. E. T. Rundquist to give a closing address, followed by an 8 PM hangar five dance, a giant cake to be auctioned for war bonds, and a birthday celebration with cadets, WACs, and civilians attending. Since opening, over 1,800 cadets have earned wings and accumulated about 135,000 flight hours with two fatal accidents.

Tenants Protest Ridgeview Rent

Burns Fatal to Girl Known Here
Seymour friends of Miss Mary Agnes Dunwoody 24 of 117 North Sherman Drive Indianapolis were shocked by her death Tuesday from burns when flames swept her home. Her mother was seriously burned and treated at Indianapolis City Hospital. Dunwoody, a Travelers Aid Society social worker, was trapped in her room and burned over her entire body. Her father, Alexander Dunwoody, an Indianapolis police patrolman, awoke to shouts and later firefighters removed her. She was a Franklin College graduate class of 1940 and a member of Zeta Tau.

Man Held Here After Pursuit
Howard Buckley of this city is held in the city jail for investigation in connection with an alleged break of a grocery store window at 406 North Vine street. He was taken into custody by two city night police after a search aided by military police in Seymour during which several shots were fired. A witness described seeing a man break the glass. nothing else is reported missing.

Former County School Teacher Dies in Idaho
Mrs J W Densford of Crothersville reports the death of her brother Dr Kackley of Soda Springs Idaho. He was superintendent of Soda Spring Hospital when he died and had taught in Jackson county before earning medical training in Tennessee. A World War I surgeon, he left a son serving overseas, two grandsons, and two sisters Mrs Densford and Mrs Clark of Nashville Ind.
