Earl Parker Cleared Of Petit Larceny Charge
State police and the prosecuting attorney cleared Earl Parker of theft after reviewing evidence that convinced them he could not have committed the poultry theft. The charge was dismissed in the Seymour justice court with Sam Kaufman’s affidavit backing the case.

Funeral services are set for Rufus Alexander Hart age twenty six who died at his home on U S Road 3150 east of Seymour early Monday. The Church of the Nazarene will host the 2 PM ceremony with Rev Walter Moseley of Uniontown officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Hart had resided in Jackson county for about four years.

Lutherans aid group names officers at annual meeting
Ed Snyder was reelected president of Branch No. 532 Aid Association for Lutherans. Louis Noelker was reelected vice president and Clarence Steinwedel was named secretary and treasurer to succeed Clarence Brethaner. Reverend John M. Cross Dies at 68 in Orange Indiana
The Rev. John M. Cross, 68, former Jackson County Christian minister, died Saturday night at his Rushville area home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. in Orange, burial in Edinburg Cemetery. He previously led multiple churches including Brownstown and the Orange and Glenwood churches. Survived by brothers J B Cross and L M Cross in Brownstown and sister Miss Hattie Cross of Freetown. Cross had been away from Jackson County for eight to ten years.

Woman Arrested in Excise Raid at Service Station
Mrs. Georgia Woodruff was arrested after a state excise police raid on the Woodruff service station near Walesboro between Seymour and Columbus on U S Road 31.
