Ben Brooks Executed at Indiana State Prison in 1921 Murder
Ben Brooks, Jennings county wood chopper, was electrocuted at Indiana State Prison after confessing to killing Amazona B Montgomery of Seymour on August 23 1921. The execution occurred at 1203 AM with the prison doctor pronouncing death at 1209 AM. Brooks did not issue a statement before dying.

Warren Hall aged sixty five native of Jackson county and brother of Sherman Hall died at 12:45 this morning at the home of his daughter Mrs Kenneth White West Fourth Street. He was born June 19 1857 and lived near Seymour most of his life. He is survived by his wife four children two sisters a brother and nine grandchildren. Funeral at the White residence Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Burial at Crothersville cemetery.
