Missing Girl Teresa Osborne Car Found Burned Near Seymour
State and county police searched a wooded area southeast of Seymour after a burned car was found on the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge. The 1965 Ford belonged to Teresa Osborne of Crothersville R2. a body was discovered in the trunk and sent to Indianapolis for identification and autopsy. Osborne had been missing since August 20. Police hope witnesses surfaced to explain the burn and possible foul play.

Three Jackson County school corporations approved budgets and tax levies for 1974 in special sessions. Seymour Community Schools raised a total rate of 4.73 with 3.34 general, 0.94 debt service, and 0.45 building fund, based on 45,039,910 in net taxable property. Browns town Central Community Schools adopted a 5.89 rate, including 4.74 general and 1.15 debt service, using 15,654,300 in net taxable property. Three Held On Drug Charges At Truck Stop
State police arrested Lonny D. Lewis 23 Jeffersonville and David A. Harmon 30 Jeffersonville on drug charges after a report of distribution at a truck stop near U S 31 and U S 50. A 16 year old Corydon youth was detained for marijuana possession. Lewis also faced firearms act charges. All were booked at the Jackson County jail at 4 24 a m. A Brownstown officer took a 15 year old into custody for mini bike theft later released to parents.
