Duane Adrian Muse aged 22 months fell into a septic tank at his parents home in Elwood Indiana. He pushed off the tank lid which had just been cleaned and drowned, Deputy Coroner Robert J. Jackley reported.

Two Women Injured In Minor Home Accidents
Two women suffered minor injuries in separate incidents. Mrs. James R. Scott, 43, of Wallonia, was admitted at 8:45 a.m. after a dog jumped on her and a nail on a board pierced her left foot. Mrs. George Banks, 63, of 619 Euclid Avenue, injured her right ankle when a painting table collapsed, and she was admitted at 3:15 p.m. and referred to an Indianapolis doctor.

Seymour plan commission to hear street extension and yard rules
The Seymour plan commission will hold a public hearing on September 12 to consider a ordinance amendment designating three street extensions on the city map for future subdivision planning. Extensions of Laurel Street Hancock Street and South Avenue would be shown but no construction will occur. The meeting also reviews yard setback changes including front yards not less than 20 feet for lots under 100 feet deep and front yards not exceeding 40 feet for lots at least 200 feet deep along with other zoning amendments.

Girl Uninjured After One-Car Crash Near Uniontown
Kathleen Garrison a 17 year old Seymour resident escaped injury in a one car crash on U S 31 1.7 miles north of Uniontown at about 12 20 p m Thursday. The 1956 foreign built coach owned by Marvin Garrison skidded and flipped in the ditch after wheels dropped off the edge. The driver was thrown to the rear but did not suffer injuries. Police Troopers J K Miller and Robert O Stanley investigated. The car sustained heavy damage to the left side top and rear.
