Seymour board met at Shields High School and recognized Albert C. Judd’s contract for next year. Miss Rose Hirtzel retired after forty two years, to be replaced by Miss Sarah Bottorff. Miss Nina Patrick also retired recently. Board approved WPA lunch project continuation and an adult sales course funded by local business groups at no cost to the district.

Local Nazarene Group Honored at District Assembly
The Seymour Church of the Nazarene received recognition at the Indianapolis District Assembly. Rev. Stephen Johnson was elected ministerial delegate to the General Assembly in Kansas City June 16, 1940, on the first ballot. Burl Sparks and Mrs. James Snow were elected lay delegate and lay alternate. Rev. L. O. Fireen was also elected ministerial delegate. Johnson was re elected secretary of the district assembly for a fifth year. Delegates from around the world were slated to attend.
