Burglars Take 22 Chain Saws From Local Store
Logan Cooper Sales and Service on a county road north of Clear Spring was burglarized late Saturday night. Twenty two new chain saws valued at $4,869.20 plus $10 in cash were stolen. Police seek a light blue or white 1965 or 1966 Chevrolet or Pontiac with elongated tail lights, possible Caprice, seen southbound after the break in.

Six Injured In One Crash East Of Seymour
Two cars collided on U S 50 east of Seymour at 8 p m injuring six people. Richard Heckman 19 and Charlie Wagers 18 were treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital with whiplash and facial injuries. Heckman was cited for reckless driving. More fender benders followed in Jackson County with additional injuries and property damage.

Ohio Man, 30, Charged In Rape Attempt Here
Thomas Earl MacKenzie 30 was charged in Jackson Circuit Court with assault and battery with intent to commit a felony in an alleged rape attempt early Saturday. Arraignment is set for 9 30 a m Friday. Police say the 2 30 a m attack occurred on East Second Street as the woman walked home from a grocery area. The attacker threw her on a lawn and tried to assault her before fleeing after she kicked him. MacKenzie was arrested about 11 40 p m Saturday at a local hotel after the woman identified him.

Roy Morris 42 of Covington Kentucky surrendered to Jennings County officers at Vernon and was arraigned on first degree murder for the shooting death of Wilbur Hannah 47 of Osgood.
