In Chestnut and Third streets the Indiana Telephone Corporation unveiled a new highly efficient switchboard and modern equipment moving from a former building. E S Welch, operating vice president, invites the public to tour Friday and Saturday from 9 to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. to learn how calls are handled by the upgraded system.

Man Held on DUI Charge in City Court Arraignment Deferred
Blish of this city is in jail under a 25 dollar bond awaiting arraignment in city court before Mayor Stanley A. Switzer on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. Arraignment was postponed due to the Mayor's absence. Blish was seized by city night police late Wednesday night on Indianapolis avenue while allegedly trying to drive a 1940 model coupe along railroad tracks. Earlier a city tractor damaged Blish’s car by sideswiping its left rear as it parked behind the city jail, then tore down the gasoline pump after the operator’s seat broke and the tractor went out of control.

Accident on State Road 258 Injures Driver at Indian Creek Bridge
At 6:45 Wednesday night a 1936 coupe driven by Riley Allman and a 1938 coach driven by Cloyd Hatton collided one half mile east of Cortland at the Indian Creek bridge. Hatton suffered cuts and bruises while Allman was slightly injured. Officer B W Branam of the Seymour state police post investigated.

A wheel bug arilus cristatus was brought to The Tribune and shown on a shirt line at Charles Hanner’s Highlawn Avenue home. It resembles a previous specimen found by J. W. Hayes at the Masonic building, with a brighter gold spot on its back. Known as devil's riding horse by southern Negroes, the black insect feeds on caterpillars and bears a ringed crest with nine teeth. It is considered beneficial but can bite and cause infection.
