Becker Recovers Father-in-Law's Body After Drowning
Arthur Becker of Seymour, a Seymour fireman on ten days' vacation, recovered the body of his father-in-law Ralph Carter, 45, of Bedford, who drowned in White River. Carter had been using a motor car on trot lines near Bedford. coroner D. Emerson ruled accidental drowning. Carter is survived by his widow, one brother, and two children Frank Carter and Mrs. Becker, both of Seymour.

Burned to death in wreck after train crash near Richmond
Paul Seaney twenty two son of Mr and Mrs Leslie Seaney residing near Whitewater was dead when rescued from a burning auto wreckage struck by a Pennsylvania passenger train northwest of Richmond Indiana Tuesday. Gasoline tank burst and fuel ignited clothing burned from his body. Seaney was bookkeeper at a local coal company on his way to work.

Four Injured When Car Overturns On U S 50 West Of Seymour
A collision on U S Route 50 west of Seymour left four people injured as the vehicle overturned. Miss Ina Whitcomb of Seymour sustained a left wrist fracture and facial injuries, Miss Dawn Trueblood suffered a fracture above the elbow, Maurice Schornick of Brownstown broke the left arm in two places, and Lon Hancock of Brownstown had minor injuries. All were treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital.

Mrs Emily Purkhhiser of Mitchell passed away at 8:30 this morning after a period of illness. She was mother to J B Parkhiser and Harry Parkhiser and survived by three children J H Everett and Mrs Kate Prosser. She belonged to the Mitchell Christian Church. Funeral services are planned in Mitchell Thursday morning.

Government to buy up hogs to lift farm prices
The United States plans to buy up to 5,000,000 hogs and one million sows at six midwestern stockyards including Chicago and Kansas City.
