A morning thunderstorm in Seymour caused only light damage to trees. Ruth Everhart reports 1.7 inches of rain and a 59 degree low. Across the Midwest storms caused one death, Morgan Kentucky resident Harvey Bingham, 40, died when lightning struck a farmhouse near Tipton. Truck Overturns on Berm at Uniontown
Howard Bradford of Nashville Ga. escaped injury when a tractor and semi truck overturned on U S Road 31 at Uniontown. Bradford was southbound and tried to pass a barricade, the truck sank into a soft shoulder and tipped onto its right side before Bill's Auto Parts. The Navy Club of USA will tour a one man death by own action submarine, the Koryu, in Seymour at Second and Chestnut streets on August 19 from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM.
