O Brien street south of Second street to the railroad crossing is open for traffic. Mayor John C. Isaacs announced at a board of public works meeting. The rebuilt section used over 400 tons of base materials and 105 tons of blacktop, raised by 12 inches and widened to 24 feet.

Assault Charge Made By Young Married Girl
Larry Ray Ross an 18 year old Seymour resident was arrested on a charge of assault and battery by Seymour police. He was taken into custody at 10 50 p m after an affidavit filed in city court for the alleged offense against a young local married girl. Ross on leave from the Navy was lodged in jail overnight. The girl gave a written statement alleging the offense occurred at Ross home on August 2. Police expect the charge to be refiled in Jackson Circuit Court.

A gang of 20 to 30 masked men halted a Glasgow London mail train near Cheddington at 3 am.
