Cecil Allman formerly of the Acme vicinity was taken into custody at his North Vernon home by Detectives Eugene Vance Don Winn and Officers Jack Curry and Walter Schindler when surrounded his dwelling early Sunday while he slept. He was turned over to military authorities at Camp Atterbury.

Local Men Are Injured in Action in France
Four Jackson county men have been wounded in action in France. Pvt. Willard N. Everhart Jr. is seriously wounded and in a hospital in England since July 5 with details to follow. Lt. Charles Beatty has twice received Purple Hearts for facial burns in action and assures injuries are not serious. Pvt. Walter E. Bishop was wounded July 26 in France. telegram gave no details and his wife received his letter today after a month without word.

Seymour Rotary Club members enjoyed their annual outing Monday night at I. L. Frost’s cabin on White River northeast of Rockford. Many attended from the afternoon, with horseshoe pitching and badminton as popular diversions, followed by a buffet luncheon. Next Monday’s meeting is set for 6:15 at the Elks Home with Leo Tim perman in charge.
