Miss Carolyn McCrary won first in the Jackson county 4H Leadership contest at Brownstown earning a trip to the State Home Economics School near the Indiana State Fair. Nina Boswell and Kathleen Wray won for cream puffs and will compete in Madison district contests. Various 4H clubs in Cortland, Freetown, Brownstown and Wallonia displayed clothing and baking entries with multiple prize winners named.

The Union Christian Fellowship of colored church members in southern Indiana will lead the weekly union church service at Shields Park shelter house at 7 30 Sunday night. A 20 voice Franklin A M E Church choir will sing including a Negro anthem with violin by James Compton Jr and vocal by Mrs Hazel Wales. The program is arranged by Edgar F Maddox and ministers of the ministerial association will participate. A free concert by the Franklin choir and gospel singers from several cities precedes the service. Public invited.

Mrs Fanny B. Henderson aged sixty five died at 609 East Sixth street at 10 55 pm after two weeks of heart disease. A Seymour resident for thirty nine years she was wife of Omer E Henderson a Baltimore and Ohio railroad employee. Born April 19 1871 in Delaware Indiana she married April 17 1892 in Versailles. Survived by husband and two children Hazel M Milburn and continued on page 4 column 7.

The Seymour City Council adopted an ordinance authorizing a 415,000 bond issue to fund a modern pool and bath house at Shields Park.
