Eight Arrested in Raid Here Bound Over to Jury
Six men and two women from Jackson county were bound over to the grand jury after appearing before United States Commissioner John W. Kern in Indianapolis on liquor law violations. The eight were arrested in raids here yesterday afternoon by federal officers from Indianapolis under special investigator Aylen G. Browning. Mrs. Lizzie Brandt claimed she kept liquor for her son Ermal Tidd, who was also arrested and said he had tuberculosis. Bonds ranged from 1,500 to 3,000 dollars. two women were released on 1,500 bonds and others jailed awaiting grand jury action. Reports noted quantities of whiskey and brew found at several residences.

The body of a young man killed by a Baltimore and Ohio passenger train at Lawrenceville Illinois has been identified as Litson 26 son of Mel Wn C Litson of Madison Indiana. Litson left his home Tuesday for Jefferson City Missouri where he planned to seek work. Catholic Ladies Aid picnic announced for Sunday August 17 at Schafer's Grove two miles east of the city on Road 31 with dinner and supper served on grounds.
